We volunteer our services annually to the Sacramento area Rebuilding Together which rehabilitates local houses for those in need and the Sacramento Area Habitat for Humanity. David is a Vietnam Veteran who served in the US Navy where he was trained to operate power plants. After leaving the Navy he used his Naval training and work at both McClellan AFB and Folsom Prison as a Stationary Engineer. In 1978, he went to work for a developer where he learned his construction skills from the ground up. In 1997, Pioneer West Enterprises was formed. In 1998, David trained to become a Certified Safety Specialist for residential and commercial projects. He worked as a Safety Officer on projects for the Army Corps of Engineers, US Forest Service and the US Bureau of Reclamation. By 2000, the enjoyment of working directly with homeowners became too strong to resist and he along with his wife, began working in the remodeling industry. Irene grew up always doing building and landscaping projects with her father and learned her way around tools at this early age. She attended San Jose State University while she worked in the building supply industry where she learned about the materials needed for construction and remodeling. After years of working in the building supply industry, she attended Heald Business College and earned her degree in bookkeeping and specialized in construction accounting. Irene continued to work in the construction industry while working towards her own contractor’s license and in 1997 Pioneer West Enterprises was formed. As the remodeling industry evolved into a Design/ Build environment, Irene returned to school and studied Interior Design and Kitchen and Bath Design. She graduated from American River College in 2005. Irene is a past President of the local chapter of NARI and is currently serving as Chairman of the Board and Chairman for Government Affairs for the chapter. Irene is also active with Mercey Springs Foundation and serves as there current Treasurer and The Society for The Blind. |
